On May 4 and 5, 2023, Pragma representatives held a series of 12 workshops and lectures for students of the Mate Lovrak Elementary School from the County as part of the Day of Prevention in the County. But that is not all!
While the students learned about themselves, about spending time on social networks and about relationships with others, we worked with parents on acquiring skills to help the child take responsibility, and with the teachers of the higher grades of the School, how to recognize and prevent burnout syndrome in the school environment.
With the director Marijan Oršolić, prof., and the professional service of the School, we talked about the thematic network "Media education is important. Mov" - about media literacy and the importance of connecting media and socio-emotional literacy and participation in the awarding of the "Annual award for journalistic works that they promote the values of education".
We spoke with journalist Sanja Pavelić on the radio show of Croatian Radio Županja about the importance of conducting such activities and education, but also about difficulties in the modern and virtual age, media challenges, emotional and media literacy of children and young people, as well as the demands of parenting.
We also visited the Maslačak Kindergarten, where, working with the kindergarten's educational council, we made aware of the changes in families, but also discussed the cooperation of parents and educators in achieving educational goals. After kindergarten, we had the opportunity to visit the Martyrdom Parish of St. John the Baptist to talk with parents about the challenges of growing up children and young people in a virtual and media environment, and parents had the opportunity to ask and get answers from our experts. We also met with representatives of the Croatian Institute for Social Work - Regional Office of Županja on the topic of planning the provision of social services in the area of the City of Županja, i.e. the local jurisdiction of the Regional Office.
Our students say: "Things like this help us to think more about ourselves, which we sometimes forget", and we agree and look forward to further cooperation. With such experiences and the expressed interest of all participants, such a full schedule is not a problem. When little hands come together - anything is possible!
